To ensure that the apples are sorted as carefully as possible, our establishment works with the most modern sorting systems. Included in this, above all, is the new sorting facility, which was put into service in autumn of 2013. It enables us to sort the apples very precisely according to colour, size, and weight. This machine allows us to empty automatically large capacity crates, loaded with apples, within the water bath. Thereafter each apple is scanned one by one by the computer and allocated according to colour and size.
The sorting efficiency of the facility is about 15 tonnes per hour. Subsequently the fruits are filled again into the large capacity crates, again under water. The sizing is carried out with an adjustable accuracy of 3 to 10 mm. The sorted fruit will continue to be cooled and stands ready to be marketed.
